Bridge car park

These designs were produced to enable an informed discussion between local community and the Council about a no-demolition proposal for homes above the existing car park.

We propose 4 to 7 storeys above the existing car park which will be re-planned with a reduction of 5-10% in the number of spaces. This taller option shows 250 homes and would be the starting point for discussions with the planners who may ask to reduce the heights in places.

The sociable deck access gives space to grow plants, improve biodiversity and allow people to get to know their neighbours whilst also protecting the building from extreme sun and rain. There are always two separate escape routes in an emergency. We've shown rooftop greenhouses in case the project proceeds with a community group to maintain these spaces, subject to detailed user requirements.
