Alexandra House

Alexandra Theatre is a valuable community asset for Birmingham.

The local community are asking the council to transfer the Theatre ownership to them in perpetuity so that they can keep the Theatre running, it's future will be secured by providing affordable and market homes in the airspace above the frontage to Suffolk Street Queensway. A community-led development amongst the skyscrapers in this district.

We might have to bid against for-profit developers but we think we'll win with our non-profit business plan for market and community owned homes.

The design provides lots of communal space for neighbours to meet and grow plants in their 'front gardens', along with a communal roof garden with planting.
