LS Ref. 190115
These are a series of council owned blocks of flats. They were rather unceremoniously arranged by the original architect on a random bit of countryside that is now well within the city limits in the middle of the last century.
We think these identical flat roofed blocks of flats each need a different hat. Similar in scope to the Preston Fire station proposal, these apparently randomly placed blocks could take on a whole new role in the landscape if they each had a different one or two storey penthouse additions on top.
These will be normal flats but they will have fantastic views. They might need to be 100% affordable due to access and maintenance practicalities, but we'll try for 40% affordable so we can generate more money for our endeavour to help fix the housing crisis in Brighton and Hove.
