Little Ships of Birmingham
As the housing crisis rages across Birmingham, there is under-used publicly owned land and buildings that could have new affordable homes built upon without losing the existing use, such as the airspace above car parks or smaller buildings.
Our audit of central Birmingham suggests that over 25,000 homes can be accommodated without demolishing homes and businesses or losing playing fields and the countryside.
To begin our campaign helping the public sector and the people of Birmingham make better use of their under-used publicly owned land, we feature below two council owned sites, one in the proposed Ladywood demolition area and one just outside.
If we are to succeed in bringing forward affordable homes on these sites, we need to know that people want to live in them. Send us an email if you live, work or study anywhere in Birmingham and want an affordable home. We will be in touch when we have the first project ready to go.
There is no commitment now, and your details will be GDPR protected.
